Jasperware is a unique material, a type of unglazed stoneware, invented by Josiah in 1775 as a result of a long series of experiments usually known in a blue solid base colour with white ornaments. The Wedgwood Burlington Pots have been developed in collaboration with Laura Cavendish, Countess of Burlington and daughter in law of the Duke and Duchess of Devonshire. Lady Burlington was inspired by Wedgwoods craftsmanship and rich heritage, which included the familys history with Wedgwood where in 1778 Josiah Wedgwood presented the Duchess of Devonshire with a set of pots he named the Devonshire Flower Pot.
